What does almost everyone associate summertime with? The beach! Spending some well deserved time relaxing on the sand, listening to the waves, and feeling the sun warm your face is almost everyone’s dream. It makes sense that looking at all the pictures your friends post from warm, exotic places might be making you jealous, but you don’t need to be! There are plenty of beautiful Connecticut beaches that you could be spending a day or longer at! These beaches provide beautiful scenery and a wide variety of amenities for all ages to enjoy. Staying closer to home is also much more affordable and convenient. Traveling with family members, especially the kids, is a breeze. You can chose a beach to visit depending on what you’re looking for and where you live, as there are countless options. Here are just a few that we recommend.

So pack up your beach balls and towels and head down to the Connecticut shoreline for a beach day you’ll never forget!

Silver Sands State Park

Silver Sands is definitely one of our favorite Connecticut beaches. It was actually ranked one of the Top 10 beaches in New England in 2007. It’s remote location in Milford allows for a less crowded, more relaxing experience. Visitors love to enjoy the boardwalk. Legend also has it that Captain Kidd buried treasure on the Charles Island, the island across from the shore. This Connecticut beach is perfect for the adventurous, curious individual!

Ocean Beach Park

Another option is Ocean Beach Park! This resort area in New London provides direct access to Long Island Sound. This beach also has its own concessions. Other attractions include the Sandbar Cafe and Lounge, a swimming pool, and a fitness center. Families also often enjoy the arcade, playground, and mini golf. If you’re looking to keep busy with lots of family fun, Ocean Beach is the perfect place for you!

Rocky Neck State Park

Another one of our favorite Connecticut beaches is located in Rocky Neck State Park in Mystic – it is a beach known for camping! If you visit during their camping season, from May to the end of September, you can enjoy their beautiful, extensive campsite, complete with picnic areas and hiking trails. Bird watching is also a popular pass time at Rocky Neck. Of course, all of these amenities surround a beautiful beach that is perfect for swimming and sunbathing! We recommend this Connecticut beach for nature enthusiasts!

Hammonasset Beach State Park

Finally, we would like to recommend Hammonasset Beach! Located in Madison, this beach has something for everyone! It’s two miles of beach make it the largest shoreline park in Connecticut.  Visitors can not only swim, but bike, camp, and fish. Many also enjoy walking the trails or eating in the picnic area. If you’re still looking for things to do, Hammonasset Beach has a nature center that offers tours for all ages. You can enjoy a little bit of everything!

Hopefully, you’ve now got the perfect place in mind for a Connecticut beach day escape that’s not too far from home! Make sure you take advantage of the summer months and treat yourself or your family. Fun at by the ocean doesn’t have to be expensive or inconvenient when you explore the Connecticut coastline. Everyone at Paradiso Insurance hope you have an amazing time wherever you choose to visit!
