Our insurance agency may be located in a small town, but there’s a lot of big events that happen in it all year round. So, here are a few things that you can do in Stafford Springs, CT this month!

Business Hosted Events

Every month Middle Ground Cafe hosts monthly events, free for the public to enjoy.

From 5:30PM to 9PM, enjoy board games, and coffee with friends and family at Game Night on January 5th. Additionally, they’re also hosting Open Mic Night from 6:30PM to 9PM on January 19th, so sign your heart out, read some poetry, or just enjoy the entertainment from others in our community.

Ric’s Place, a small bar in Staffordville holds a variety of events for the community. Every Wednesday from 7:30PM to 9:30PM visit Ric’s Place for Trivia Night and have fun with your friends. Check their Facebook regularly for new events and live music.

The local cidery holds a variety of events such as, live music and entertainment. On January 27th visit them for a hand crafted cup of hard cider and live music from Dead Dawgs.

The Inspiration Station, a local scrapbooking store, offers a “Coffee and Craft” event every single Wednesday from 11am to 4pm. When you pre-register, you can enjoy coffee and create a scrapbook for $5. Additionally, if you chose, you can walk in and pay $7 to join the event.

Arts on Main

Every month our local shop owners and artists come together and provide entertainment for all to enjoy on Main Street. The community loves to come together for this and it typically gets pretty busy downtown!

This month Arts on Main will be held January 12th from 6PM to 8PM. There’s live music, snacks, and all of the businesses on the downtown strip stay open later for your shopping convenience.

Community Programs

The Stafford Public Library also hosts a variety of free and family friendly events, you do have to register for these events ahead of time, but they’re a great way to get more involved in your community and meet new people.

January 6th- stop into the library at 1PM to participate in LEGO club, what you create will be on public display for a month.

January 13th- visit the library at 10:30AM to watch the movie “Leap”. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

January 17th- from 5:30PM to 7:30PM the library will hold its free open art studio. This class will teach participants how to create their own Zentangle drawing.

January 24th- from 6PM to 7:30PM join your friends and family at board game night. Refreshments will be provided and you’re welcome to use the library’s games or bring your own!

January 31st- at 6:30PM the book club will be discussing “Of Human Bondage” by W. Somerset Maugham. Free copies are available for anyone who would like to be a part of the discussion or club.

As a reminder, all of these dates are subject to change. So, make sure to call or contact in advance before the event because winter weather can cause cancellations! The next time you’re in our neighborhood, come enjoy what our little community has to offer all year round.
