I am writing to let you know that I read the article in Rough Notes about Paradiso Insurance and Chris Paradiso.

I have had the pleasure of working with Chris for a little over a year. I find it amazing that someone in Chris’s position seems more concerned about helping me be successful in my business than what I can do for him.

I am part owner of a life insurance brokerage firm and strive to offer the best service possible to the agents I work with. Chris is continually looking for ways to help me increase my business. He is helping me to implement some of the advances in technology that he incorporates in the every day functioning of his business into mine.

I believe that with the help Chris has and will be providing me, I will find sources of business I never realized were available. Chris regularly invites me out to his agency to sit down with not only himself but his entire staff where I can pick their brains for ways to apply the computer savvy that Chris has developed to my own brokerage business.

Thank you for highlighting Chris and Paradiso Insurance. Entrepeneurs like Chris should be recognized for their ability to run a successful business and give back to the community and help others be successful.

Please accept this letter as an endorsement for Chris Paradiso and Paradiso Insurance to be your agency of the year. I am proud to say I know Chris as a friend and fellow agent and can tell you firsthand about his marketing ideas and passion for his business. In 2009 all your cover agents are deserving of the honor of being agency of the year. However, the reason I feel Chris’s more deserving is not 100% about marketing.

Chris is one of those rare individuals you encounter in life who is willing to share his ideas with others in his field. In my 21 years as an agency owner I have never come across an agent that is willing to help competitors as willingly as Chris. His marketing skills are alone worthy of the honor of agency of the year and I could tell you many of his ideas that you already know. I would like to reference a missed opportunity in the November issue of another Insurance Magazine as why Chris Paradiso separates himself from the other distinguished cover agencies.

This other respected Insurance Magazine had a chance to capture a story of 200 agents, of which Chris Paradiso is clearly a leader, coming together and sharing ideas on marketing. Chris’s cover of Rough Notes was the subject of a morning breakfast of which he shared his story and agency marketing techniques with every agent in the room including those from Connecticut. Without hesitation he shared how he was honored with the Rough Notes cover and how other agents in the room could get there. The Insurance Magazine that ran the November issue could not see the value of fellow business people getting together and sharing ideas for growth in what could be the worst economic crisis in American history. They missed a great story!

Chris markets, succeeds, and shares with others no matter who they are or where they are. I believe this separates him from the other worthy candidates and these rare traits are news worthy and should be honored in a competitive society. Knowing at least one employee at Rough Notes and speaking to another I know you value these traits. I hope in addition to his marketing skills, you consider his generosity to fellow agents and take this into account in your decision making for the Rough Notes Agency of the Year.
