So yes, you read that correctly, Spring cleaning for your wallet.  What do we mean by it? Well we’ve found some tips for this season that could end up saving you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars from a couple simple adjustments to your finances.

So what do we mean by ‘simple adjustments to your finances?’ Well first of all, no one has hacked our blog and trying to spam you with a get rich quick scheme.  These tips are legitimate ways that could save you big time. And no, they aren’t smoke and mirrors, they’re real life adjustments that can help you out significantly with your finances.  So what then are these tips? Keep reading…

The first tip is simple: Instead of using your tax return (hopefully you received one, if not, then just move to the second tip) to purchase something, instead use it to pay off some of your credit card debt.  This is a mind boggling statistic: the average American household owes around $15,000 on their credit cards! Yes, that’s fifteen thousand, not hundred.  Moreover, the average interest rate on these cards ranges from thirteen to fifteen percent.  So with all of that in mind, use your refund to pay down that credit card debt and avoid those astronomical fees.  If you let that debt be, then it’d be around $2,500 in interest.  That’s savings if you get rid of it!

The second tip is a very popular one as of right now, but that may change quickly, so now is the time to act! Refinancing your mortgage.  Here’s another shocker: the average thirty-year mortgage rate right now is around 3.4%! That’s insane when you think about what they were at only five years ago. Now obviously if you plan on moving in the foreseeable future, then obviously this isn’t in the cards for you, but if you see yourself in your current home for quite a while, then refinancing may be an option for you to save some serious dough- as in thousands of dollars.

If you think you could benefit from these tips, then look into it for sure! And here’s one more thing. If one of your CT insurance policies is coming up for renewal, give us a call to see how you could save even more money with a new policy! 860-684-5270!
