Now while this is unfortunate for us in the insurance industry, it’s up to all of us to try and stop insurance fraud whenever possible.  One of the ways to stop insurance fraud is by knowing where to look for it, and you only gain that knowledge by ready more and more about past fraud cases.

So today we have another case of insurance fraud, this time its auto insurance.  Now it happened in Louisiana, so it probably won’t affect CT auto insurance, but by knowing this story may help prevent it from happening here in the Nutmeg State.

According to a recent article published in a local Louisiana newspaper, five residents of northwest Louisiana were charged for auto insurance fraud when they orchestrated car accidents on purpose in order to collect insurance money. The residents were sentenced to fourteen months in prison.  And again, all for a quick buck.

So make sure you’re on the lookout in case any accident occurs to you.  This can easily lead to an increase in CT auto insurance for everyone, so remember to get all the facts!
