Your home should be your biggest source of happiness and pride, aside from your family and friends.  Homes are where the heart is, as the saying goes. However small problems like a leaky toilet can lead to a firestorm of other problems and a claim on your CT homeowners insurance.

Take for instance my example of the leaking toilet. Seems like a quick fix to some, but what if you’re unaware of your toilet leaking.  It couldn’t be as obvious as you may think.  The toilet can easily leak internally- meaning that it could have a bad pipe somewhere within the floorboards of your home, causing water leakage that can do thousands of dollars worth of damage to your home, and subsequently cause you to file a claim on you CT homeowners insurance. That water leaking from your toilet can not only ruin your bathroom floor, but say that toilet is upstairs and that water travels down to your first floor?

Now you have a larger problem than originally first thought.  That water damage can be on both floors, and furthermore can cause mold issues that may have you needing to vacate your home for a while so it can be properly cleaned and sanitized from the mold and mildew that the one toilet upstairs caused.  So make sure that you’re always on top of your home and its intricacies. This can happen without you ever noticing anything’s  wrong, so make sure to have periodic checks on all of your homes structure and plumbing from a professional.  This can lead to a CT homeowners insurance claim and find you living in a hotel for a week…and no one wants that.
