It’s nearly time for Valentine’s Day, and we wanted to give our clients a few tips on how your Connecticut business can show your customers that you truly love them! Customer retention is important in business, and showing your customers that you really care will earn you their trust, loyalty, and at the end of the day, their repeated business. Here are our tips on driving customer retention with a small touch of love in your business!

Be There for your Customers

When it comes to taking care of your customers, you have to treat them like they are the only customer you have, so that you will be the only professional they will go to for your service. You have to be their personal professional within your industry, and their trusted “go-to” option. There are a few ways you can enforce this fundamental that will help you earn your customer’s trust. The first is to teach your customers and help them understand your work, this way they know they are getting the service they deserve, and they understand what they are paying for. We can also suggest trying to give them a service that makes them say “wow,” or trying to spend quality time with them if it’s appropriate, such as over a lunch meeting or a visit to their office. Another thing we can suggest is to have a rewards program in place, where your customer can earn free gifts or service for interacting with your business.

Give your Customers the Spotlight

Some of your customers may enjoy a little extra attention, which is easy to fulfill if you have the right approach. If you’re on social media, give your customer a shout out if they won a contest, attended an event with your company, or donated for a cause you were involved in. If they left you a review, let the rest of your customers know you appreciate it by including them in your company’s visual content marketing, just like our marketing team has in the example below, or by having it on display somewhere in your business.

Simple Tips, Tricks, or Follow-Ups

We also have a few ideas that are cheap and easy to implement that could give you that extra support that you’re looking for.

Have you thought about sending out handwritten letters to your customers? It may seem a bit traditional, but with a handwritten letter, you’re sending your customers a message that says that they are worth more than an automated template in your system, and that you took time out of your busy schedule to address and appreciate that they choose you over your competitors. You could also try giving away coupons to nearby businesses, which will benefit both you and other businesses. Whatever it may be, get creative! Showing your customers that your Connecticut business truly cares means that you are willing to take an extra step that your competitors won’t, and we can assure you that it will help you build strong, long-lasting relationships with your clientele!
