Okay, so maybe we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves, but hey, can you blame us? We LOVE insurance! Everything about it! The coverage, the discounts, the deductible! Whenever inclement weather is in the forecast, we can’t help but think about how Mother Nature plays a key role in the insurance world, especially CT homeowners insurance.

With it being the summer time (yes, we know it doesn’t technically start for a few more weeks), inclement weather seems to pop up almost weekly.  Summer thunderstorms sure are a part of the season, but, boy can they do a number on your home.  Heaven forbid a storm’s lightening strikes a tree near your house, causing it to come crashing through your kitchen, what are you to do? Well, that’s what we’re here for, because having a reliable and trusted independent insurance agency like ours can make your claim process with an event like this seem hardly tiresome.

Furthermore, think about those floods that always seem to happen around this time too.  Remember, we’ve said it many times before but it bears repeating: flood coverage has a thirty day grace period from the time you apply for it, and when the coverage actually kicks in.  So say you didn’t get a policy until today.  If we received some pretty awful storms next week that caused a flood in your basement and a significant loss of property, you’d unfortunately be out on your own since your flood coverage wouldn’t be up and running yet, and your CT homeowners insurance won’t cover it.

So the long and short of it is this: summer time means nasty weather.  It can also bring absolutely spectacular weather too, but those typical, rapid-forming thunderstorms that occur in the afternoons can pack quite a punch if you’re not prepared.
