Spring has sprung – and the allergies have arrived. Many individuals may not even be able to enjoy spring to its fullest potential due to excessive nose blowing and scratchy throats! If you are plagued with horrible spring allergies, our agency feels for you. To ensure that they do not get the best of you this season, we have put together a quick list of five ways you can properly deal with them.
#1: Turn to over-the-counter drugs. There are a number of OTC medications you can take, including: topical nasal sprays, decongestants, oral antihistamines, inhaled corticosteroids and more.
#2: Keep your windows closed. The last thing you need is the spring air (full of pollen) coming into your home, too! Be sure to keep windows closed as often as possible (no matter how nice it is outside.)
#3: Clean your home. If you, a friend, or family has been outdoors, you can expect some of the pollen to be in your home. Be sure to clean often, including changing bed sheets, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
#4: Visit an allergist. Turn to a specialist to get to the bottom of your allergy issues. He or she may even give you an allergy shot.
#5: Purchase a dehumidifier. Investing in a dehumidifier is a great way to rid of mold, mildew and the likes.
Follow the above tips and you may beat allergy season this year!
If allergies persist, you may want to consider making an appointment with your doctor. He or she can assess your health and possibly put you on a better medication. No need to worry about costs, either. With CT health insurance from Paradiso Insurance, you may be all covered!
