It’s supposed to get up into the high nineties the next couple of days, and what’s a better way to beat the heat than taking the family to one of Connecticut’s beautiful lakes. There’s so many great options when at a lake… you have swimming and diving (in the appropriate areas), fishing, boating, tubing, kayaking… the list goes on and on. You just have to make sure that you’re doing everything very carefully and safely to make sure no CT insurance claim is made!

But what lake to go to? There are so many options to pick from, how could you choose? Well here’s what we think are the best northeastern Connecticut lakes.

  • Coventry Lake: Right off Route 44 in Coventry,  this beautiful lake is clean, safe to swim in, and even allows jet skis!

  • Lake Chaffee: This is a hidden gem in northeastern Connecticut.  Right in the heart of Ashford, CT, lake Chaffee has everything you could ask for in a fun summertime lake experience.

  • Crystal Lake: Stuck between Stafford and Ellington, Crystal Lake is a great small lake that you can fish on, swim in, or take the boat out. Local tip- stay for the sunset over the mountain…it’s gorgeous!

  • Staffordville Lake: We all know it, and we all love it.  Staffordville lake is a favorite in the Stafford Springs community, and it’s length can provide some fun adventures on your boat!

So hopefully you can get out these next couple of days and enjoy one of these beautiful Connecticut lakes with the whole family. Hope to see you there!
