Today marks the first official day of Spring! Everyone rejoice! Warm weather is here! What else does the return of spring also mean? Household cleaning of course! Now your enthusiasm for the spring season may not be shared with cleaning your CT homeowners insurance house, but here’s some tips to help you make this uneventful process a little easier to deal with.

First and foremost, you should have four separate and distinct storage bins or boxes and label each with these four categories:

-Trash
-Give Away
-Storage
-Put Away

So what then qualifies to be placed into each of these bins? Well here’s the necessary qualifications that you should keep in mind to make your cleaning process run much smoother.

Trash: These are any items that you do not need or want, period. These also cannot be donated or sold.

Give Away/Sell- Be generous here folks. Like the old saying goes, “your trash is another’s treasure.” Think about the positives that someone might have from your junk that is merely taking up space in your house.

Storage- Place your items in this bins that you absolutely cannot part with but you don’t really need this on a day-to-day basis. Also consider a list of these items to keep extra organized.

Put Away-  These are the household items that you need almost every day, or at least a couple times a week. Keep track of how many times you use these items and see if they truly belong in another bin.

Hopefully these little organization tips will help you out when you decide to clean your home. Don’t put this off another week. Do it now and get it done- I assure you it will feel great!
