This week is Simplify your Life week! If you haven’t already checked out our other blogs on Simplify your Life, we’ve already discussed getting our mobile phone app as well as checking up on your commercial insurance for renewals for our business owners out there. Although, today we wanted to talk to our parents out there. We know that simplifying your life isn’t always easy, especially if you’ve got to organize your kids’ lives too. Today, we’re giving you our top tips on how you can help assist with organizing your kids’ lives as well:

  • Use to-do lists to help them stay on track. You can create checklists for your kids that help them keep track of assignments or household chores, or checklists of what they need to bring with them for responsibilities such as class.

  • Help organize their homework assignments. Organization for kids sometimes starts with their academics. To help your child get through their homework, try to encourage a child to number their assignments in order which they should be done, or reward them when they finish up.

  • Designate a study space or study time. To boost their productivity, your child should study at the same time in the same place every night. It doesn’t have to be in their bedroom, but it should be in an area with limited distractions ideally. If your kids don’t have homework, now is a great time to have them get some reading in, especially if they are in Stafford Springs and working toward our Bikes for Reading Program.

  • Weekly cleanups. If you’re looking for organization for your kids for the long hull, consistency is key. Getting your children on a weekly scheduled cleanup is a great way to develop that consistency. Encourage your child to sort through books or bookbags on a weekly basis and remove old tests or papers to keep in a separate file at home or throw away if they are no longer needed.
